A Tribute to American Songwriters, Volume 1 supports Michael's 2022 tour and accompanies a companion Video available to view on Michael's website. A Tribute to American Songwriters Volume 1 includes14 arrangements of songs (13 cover and 1 original), each with a short narrative introducing the song and songwriter. Michael carefully chose these songs as they have proven formative in his musical career. The songwriters included are Jerry Garcia, Warren Haynes, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Bruce Hornsby, John Prine, John Hiatt, Woody Guthrie/Billy Bragg, Hank Williams, Greg Allman, Neil Young, Paul Overstreet (Allison Krause) Also included is Michael's original song Drive (from the Drive album 2007) that almost found it's way onto a superbowl ad with Chevy trucks. Recorded Live over two nights at Michael's home near Half Moon Bay, CA. This production was recorded live over two nights at Michael's Half Moon Bay home.
